Why install spray foam insulation?

With numerous options available for property owners/homeowners to allocate their funds, here are several compelling reasons to choose spray foam insulation.

Spray Foam Seals Air Leaks

By sealing air leaks and ensuring adequate mechanical ventilation, you can enhance the quality of the air within your home. Air leakage refers to the uncontrolled entry of outside air through cracks and openings, which differs from proper ventilation. Addressing these leaks and implementing effective ventilation strategies leads to healthier indoor air.

Spray Foam Enhances Indoor Air Quality

If your home is constructed over a crawl space, insulating and sealing that area with foam insulation can significantly boost the air quality indoors. As your home naturally draws air from the crawl space, it can inadvertently introduce contaminants such as mold and pest remnants. By sealing the crawl space, you can prevent these unwanted pests from entering your living space.

Spray Foam Benefits Your HVAC System

Insulating and sealing your crawl space with foam insulation can dramatically improve the air quality inside your home. As your home naturally breathes air from your crawl space, it brings with it contaminants such as mold and pest debris. Sealing your crawl space will keep those pests out of your home.

Energy Efficiency

For optimal energy efficiency, your home should be properly insulated from the roof down to its foundation. Promote a healthy home, cleaner air and more comfortable living space for your family. Furthermore, Insulation is one of the most efficient ways to save energy at home since it keeps it warm in the winter and cool in the summer. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, heating and cooling account for 50-70% of an average home’s total energy usage. Poor insulation can cause major air leakage, making your home less comfortable and unnecessarily throwing money out the window every month.

Blown In Attic Insulation with Loose-fill Fiberglass

Does your attic have insulated eaves? Is there enough room for adequate ventilation? In order to draw in the cooler air from outside and push out the hot air, ventilation fans will be useful.

In building, attic systems typically come in two varieties. The first is a vented attic system, in which air circulates between a vented gable or ridge and open soffits. Insulation has been put at the ceiling level in this application. The second is a system of sealed attics with closed ridges, soffits, and gables. The thermal boundary at the roof is created by the use of spray foam or another type of air-impermeable insulation. Air loss is caught.

Blown insulation can be installed into any attic space and it can insulate the living space below. Blown in attic insulation is very cost effective, more so than faced batts, and is resistant to pests. Blown in insulation is proven to not make a good home for rodents, birds, and insects, and is resistant to moisture and mold.

Another great advantage to blown in fiberglass is its noise-canceling effects, reducing the noise of busy highways, airports, and storms.

Most people see the cost of the installation return to them in money saved on energy bills over the next 2 to 4 years, because of this energy efficiency.

Exterior Wall Insulation- Fiberglass Batts

Fiber glass batts are probably the most common type used in the U.S. They are typically R-13 or R-30 if 3.5 or 12 inches thick and can be used for all new walls, including foundation walls.

They are very energy effective. Studies have shown batt insulation can reduce the amount of energy required to heat and cool a home by as much as 50 percent. Along with lower energy bills, your home will be more comfortable year-round.
